从《中华基督教会年鉴》(1914-1936)看基督教青年会中国化历史进程中的特点

摘　　要：青年会中国化主要体现在爱国和社会服务方面。其特点有三:一,青年会的爱国突出表现在其提倡"人格救国"和"公民教育"方面。他们强调要对青年人进行德智体群的培养,使其承担起救国的责任;为增强民众的公民意识,成为国家的好公民,他们在社会上积极推行各项公民教育活动。二,青年会积极开展各项社会服务,推动社会向现代化发展,最突出的是向社会推行科普知识和实施平民教育工作,由此提高民众对科学的认知能力并使部分下层民众摘除了文盲帽子。三,青年会的很多事工均与国际接轨,有国际视野。他们为消除海外对中国的偏见,使中国融入国际社会方面做出了贡献。这些特点显明青年会在与中国社会的融合方面做得很好。但他们对基督教如何与中国文化的融入的思考略有不足。The indigenization of YMCA and YWCA is reflected in patriotism and social services.It has three mainly characteristics as follows:first,their patriotism is embodied in its promotion of"saving the country by personality"and"civic education"with a stress to train young people morally,intellectually,physically and mutually so that they could shoulder the responsibility of saving the country.For this purpose,they actively carried out various civic education activities to enhance people’s civic awareness and become good citizens of the country.Secondly,They actively carries out various social services to promote the development of the society towards modernization,the most prominent of which is to promote the popularization of science knowledge and the implementation of civilian education,so as to improve the cognition ability of the public to science and remove the stigma of illiteracy from part of the lower classes.Thirdly,many ministries of YMCA and YWCA are in line with international practices and have an international vision.They have contributed to eliminating prejudices against China from overseas and integrating China into the international community.These characteristics demonstrate that YMCA and YWCA have done a good job in integrating with Chinese society.However,their thinking on how to integrate Christianity into Chinese culture seems inadequate.
