布礼士与华西边疆研究

摘　　要：备受西方学者推崇的华西传教士人类学先驱布礼士于20世纪初在华西边疆研究中曾做出重大贡献,国内学术界却少有专文论及。本文基于布礼士发表在《教务杂志》《华西教会新闻》和《华西边疆研究学会杂志》上的学术文章,结合相关的中英文文献,对布礼士在华西地区的实践活动和学术研究进行梳理。布礼士的华西边疆研究客观上起到了中西文化交流的桥梁作用,在一定程度上促进了西方的汉学研究。As a pioneer anthropology missionary,A.J.Brace had made a significant contribution to West China Border Research in early 20th century,and was highly respected by western scholars.However,the domestic academic circles have few articles about him.Based on Brace's articles in Chinese Recorder^West China Missionary News,Journal of West China Border Research Society,and other related documents both in English and in Chinese,this paper aims to do a research on his field work and academic study.Objectively Brace’s research played a role as a bridge between Chinese and Western cultures,and promoted the western Sinology to a certain extent.
