摘 要:To the Editor:Alzheimer’s disease(AD)and type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)are major causes of morbidity and mortality in older individuals,and their epidemiological link generates substantial challenges for the management of these devastating diseases.Abnormal glucose metabolism,accompanied by inhibition of the protein kinase B(Akt)/glycogen synthase kinase-3b(GSK-3b)signaling pathway,is a key factor in amyloid precursor protein(APP)accumulation and amyloid b(Ab)formation in neuronal cells.[1-3]Therefore,activation of the Akt/GSK-3b pathway may be a promising target for AD treatment.
