摘　　要：Objective: to investigate the pathogenesis and mechanism of acute renal failure caused by irrational use of acyclovir, and to propose preventive measures. Methods: a case of acute renal failure caused by irrational use of acyclovir in patients with herpes zoster in our hospital was retrospectively analyzed. Results: the patient was diagnosed with herpes zoster and was treated with acyclovir and mecobalamine. After controlling herpes zoster, the patient was found to have increased uric acid, creatinine and urea, confusion, oliguria and ion disorder, etc. The patient was diagnosed with acute renal failure, and his condition improved after receiving symptomatic treatment such as hemodialysis. Conclusion: in the clinical use of acyclovir in the treatment of herpes zoster, the dosage, compatibility and usage should be strictly controlled, and adverse drug reactions should be closely monitored to avoid or reduce the occurrence of drug-induced kidney injury.
