摘　　要：China's transportation industry has developed rapidly in recent years. With the development of local economy, the traffic volume is increasing day by day. A road with low grade can not meet the demand of vehicles. Reconstruction and expansion of low-grade highway is imminent. Considering the economic rationality of highway upgrading and reconstruction, there is a need for widening and reconstruction of the original bridges along the line. The research on widening scheme is of great significance both technically and economically. This paper mainly introduces the design method of highway bridge widening and reconstruction and the problems that should be paid attention to in the actual design of old bridge widening, and puts forward some suggestions for highway bridge widening design in our province in the future.
