摘  要:The State Council stressed in the implementation plan of national vocational education reform that vocational education and general education are two different types of education with equal importance. Teachers professional ability plays a key role in education development. Teachers teaching ability competition can promote school construction and teachers personal development, accelerate teaching reform and various platforms, enhance teachers comprehensive quality, and promote economic and social development and national competitiveness with the goal of cultivating high-quality workers and skilled personnel. Vocational ability is a distinctive feature of vocational school teachers, which is different from that of ordinary school teachers. By carrying out vocational school teachers teaching ability competition and promoting teaching through competition, vocational school teachers will quality and professional skills can be effectively tempered and significantly improved. Vocational English Teaching Competence Contest has become an important direction of vocational English teaching reform. Vocational English teachers should make full use of the contest platform, comprehend the teaching of vocational English from the contest reform, and carry out some reforms.
