摘　　要：构建社会主义和谐社会既给公安工作提出了更高要求,也赋予了公安机关更大责任和更重任务。"和谐公安"理念的提出正是回应现实需求与公安发展规律的优先选择,体现了新时期人民公安工作的重要特征。为此,公安机关必须以维护社会和自身的和谐为工作目的和宗旨,从进一步提高"以人为本"的执法理念、深入推进"三基"工程建设和切实改进公安队伍的结构等方面着手,努力构建和谐的公安队伍和公安体系。More demands are raised for public security work and bigger duties and tasks are given to them in order to build a socialist harmonious society.'Harmonious public security' is introduced as a prior choice to the practical needs and development rules of public security,which shows the important characters of public security work in the new era.So public security organs must regard the social protection and its harmony as the goal and purpose of their work,promote the law enforcement ideas of'people oriented'further,deepen the project of'Three Basic'and improve the structure of public security teams effectively,and make efforts to build harmonious public security teams and system.
