摘　　要：回顾了壳体理论和土力学，找到了一个最经济的毛石砌的壳体基础来替代建筑中传统的桩基础。By virtue of shell theory and soil mechanics,a most economical stone masonry shell foundation is sought in place of conventional pile foundation.Now it is used as foundation for hundreds of buildings in West Zhuhai,a new district formed by filling up the coastal areas with backfill .
