摘　　要：提出了一种采用软硬件协同工作,使用以太网作为数据传输媒介的方法构建通用的存储网络适配器,并通过SOC的方式在网络适配器端实现用户级轻量级通信协议VIA.这种存储网络适配器最大限度地降低了通信主机的协议处理开销,减少了数据在通信过程中的拷贝,既保证了与现有网络的兼容,又提高了网络存储性能.模拟测试结果显示这种新型存储网络适配器与普通网络适配器相比能将传输延迟缩短15%～20%.A new method of designing virtual interface(VI) based storage network adaptor is presented.VI,the light weight user-level protocol, is implemented in the new kind of network adaptor by the cooperation of hardware and software in SOC and the common Ethernet is the transfer media for compatibility and interconnect.The overhead of processing protocol is avoided by offloading it to adaptor.Additionally,the data copying between user space and kernel is also eliminated by VI.The analysis and simulation show that the new inexpensive network storage adaptor has better transfer performance and can shorten the transfer latency 15～20 percent.
