摘　　要：扼要叙述了洋务运动的性质与历史地位;提出了洋务运动即是近代化运动的观点。江南制造局是洋务运动举办最早的、新式的、先进的、标志性的一个机器制造工厂。她在中国近代史上具有很高的历史地位、重要的意义和重大的作用。This article briefly recounts the quality and historical position of Westernization Movement in the 19^(th) century and puts forward the idea that Westernization Movement is actually the modernization movement in the last years of Qing Dynasty.Jiangnan Manufacture General Bureau is the first machinery manufacture factory established in the Westernization Movement.The new factory with its advanced equipment and system is a symbol in Chinese history.Occupying very high position and with significant meaning in Chinese modern history,Jiangnan Manufacture General Bureau has taken great effect on the development of China.
