摘　　要：美国20世纪著名小说家菲兹杰拉德在代表作《大人物盖茨比》中,通过运用诸多巧妙的艺术形式,如第一人称的叙述角度、丰富而多次层的象征主义手法等,反映了一个十分深邃的思想主题,即“美国梦”的破灭及其破灭的社会根源。而艺术形式与主题思想的完美结合正是该小说的成功所在。A The 20th-century American novelist F. Scott Fitzgerald, in his representative work of The GreatGatsby.employed many skillful writing techniques, such as the viewpoint of the first-person narrator, rich and multi-level symbolism etc. , reflecting a very serious theme: the corruption of the American dream and its social background. The perfect combination of artistry and theme is the key to the success of the novel.
