摘　　要：State Family Planning Commission statistics indicate the natural growth rate of China's population in 2001 fell below one percent. The birth rate in China has been reduced by nearly 300 million people since the 1970s, when the nation implemented its current family planning policy. China's family planning policy has effectively stemmed the nation's population explosion.中国国家计生委的统计资料表明,2001年中国的人口自然增长率已经降至1％以下,自上个世纪70年代实行计划生育政策以来,30年中中国总计少出生人口近3亿,这是中国人口政策的巨大胜利。
