摘　　要：With bound feet, most ancient Chinese women were confined to the small world of home throughout their whole life. Great changes took place to the Chinese society in modern times. Women in large cities and coastal areas took the lead in going out of the family. New means of transport entered into their life in succession, while old means of transport got new uses. The means of transport widened women's scope of social life.古代的闺秀们裹着三寸小脚,“大门不出,二门不迈”,生活在家庭的小天地里。近代的中国社会发生了巨大变化,大城市和沿海地区的妇女率先走出家庭,加入社会职业。新的交通工具,如人力车、汽车、火车,相继参与她们的生活;老车也有了新的用途,独轮车上不仅坐着回娘家的媳妇,还成为纺织女工上班的“的士”。女人借助交通工具扩大了她们的活动范围,拓宽了她们参与社会生活的领域。
