摘　　要：回鹘文佛典中的“■”［德］拉失曼著魏晶晶译古代突厥文中的，意指棉布。它在古今维吾尔族的经济和日常生活中都起着极为重要的作用。对这一问题的探讨，其实艾色迪（Ｈ．Ｅｃｓｅｄｙ）和罗纳·塔斯（Ａ．Ｒｏｎａ－Ｔａｓ）早已作过。①我对其反映的语言学现象与社会经...Abstract In the Buddhist Texts boz denoted a texile suitable for the writting of Buddhist texts and painting pictures of Buddhist figures. As we learn from these texts , boz is woven on a loom with woof and warp. lt can even be used for making clothing for the Buddha , Bod- hisattvas , monks , etc. Therefore , boz must have been a highly valuable cloth. When the Uighur text is translated 白 (white cloth) . When the Uighur translator uses boz then we must assume that in the translator's opinion boz denoted a kind of valuable cloth during Uighur times. lt was also suitable as a gift given by distinguished people to people of a similar social status.
