D. 914 ,Cao Yijin wielded military power of Guijijun instead of ZhangChengeng. Zhang Chengfeng had male offspring. How could Cao Yijin replace him? We arein a puzzle about the power change between Zhang and Cao. The author of this paper conjec-tures that Cao Yijin staged a coup d'etat without bloodshed and forced Zhang Chengfeng tofall out of power. The reasons of the conjecture are as follows:耿ao Yijin considered him-self to be the rightful heir of political power of the Zhang's Guiyijun, because of the maritalrelations between the two families of Zhang and Cao ,②Cao Yijin allied his family to the bigfamilies of Shazhou and enfoyed wide support of them, thus laying a foundation of over-throwing the Zhang's political power,③The oficers of the period of Jinshan State continuedin office in the Cao's power. Maybe Cao Yijin enjoyed support of the Uygurs of Ganzhou.④The wars in the period of the Jinshan state greatly discontented the people of Ganzhou andShazhou. Cao Yijin seized the opportunity to stage a coup d'etat and force Zhang Chengfengto fall out of the political power. The whereabouts of Zhang Chengfeng ang the others re-mains to be further researched.
