摘　　要：蒙博托与卡比拉：时代的产儿徐济明一个威信扫地的国家元首与一位出其不意的对手较量——题记扎伊尔内战结束了。内战中的两位关键人物蒙博托和卡比拉的命运有点出人意料：惯于玩弄权术的蒙博托竟如此不堪一击，而名不见经传的卡比拉似乎不费吹灰之力就轻而易举地登上了总...AbstractBoth Mobutu and Kabila are products of the age.During the cold war period, the US, for contending with the Soviet Union for hegemony in Africa, supported Mobutu staging coups and coming to power, and subsequently preserved his autocratic rule for long years politically, economically and militarily. Since the end of the cold war, the objectives of the US policy in Africa have changed over to the promotion of values of democracy. As such, Mobutu became an obstacle for the US to pursue its new Africa policy and expand its spheres of influence. Those who are unjust are doomed to destruction. When Mobutu's regime was on the verge of collapse, it appeared that everybody tended to give it a shove, and an internal and external anti-Mobutu united front had naturally taken shape. By taking advantage of the current situations, Kabila took up arms. The anti-government armed forces led by him acted as the shock contingent in overthrowing Mobutu regime. Kabila's success is the choice of history, the necessity of the times.
