摘　　要：一、1992年西亚北非地区形势综述 与上年相比,西亚北非地区1992年的形势较为平稳、缓和,没有大起大落。但在世界格局转换和海湾战争滞后作用影响下,地区形势依然动荡不稳、复杂多变。美国巩固既得利益和加强“主导地位”的图谋和努力,未能使中东形势按着它的意愿发展,而且还给该地区带来了一些复杂和不稳定的因素:伊斯兰激进势力有了新的发展;军备竞赛升级;民族争端和边界冲突加剧;经济形势仍很严峻;一些国家发生社会动乱,西亚北非仍是世界上热点地区之一。Under the influence of the change of world political pattern and the stagnant effect ensuing from the Gulf War, the political situation of WestAsia and North Africa remains turbulent, unstable, complicated and change-able. It is manifested prominently in the following aspects: The attempt andeffort made by the U. S. to consolidate its vested interest and strengthenits 'leading position', while bringing in elements of complexity and instabilityto this region,have not been able to make Middle East situation develop in acourse complying with its wish; Although Middle East peace talk has keptgoing on,there is no breakthrough and the force against peace talk is some-what on the rise; Procrastination of the settlement of Iraq issue has made thetension of Gulf situation continue on; The regional expansion of Iran hasaggravated the antagonism between the U. S. and Iran, with the latterbecoming a 'potential threat' to the U. S. in the Middle East: The radicalforces of Islam have come up to be more active, wi increased influences of some countries on regions such as Central Asia and Balkan; The imbalanceof relative strength in the region has led to an arms race the heat of whichis intensifying in waves; As to other hot spot issues of the region, althoughthe heat has abated in various degrees, no progress has been achieved inregard of course of political settlement, with the exception of the issue ofLebanon, meanwhile there have arisen new hot spots as well; There isimbalance of regional economic development, with most economies stillbeing in dire straits and economic reforms producing little effect. China ispursuing a foreign policy of maintaining independence and keeping thenitiative in her own hands, which has won wide understanding and highpraise from the international community.
