摘　　要：1. IntroductionAs and than, when used to introduce clauses of comparison, are generally regarded as subordinating conjunctions. As is often used as a correlative to as in the construction as ... as, than is often used as a correlative to more or less in the construe-tion more / less ...than.Adverbial clauses of comparison introduced by as and than seldom appear in their full clause forms. More often we employ simpler constructions, with some elements in the adverbial clauses
