摘　　要：冷战的结束给南亚地区局势造成了很大影响,南亚战略态势由“美苏对抗,印巴交恶”向有利于印的不平衡方向转变。印度迅速靠近美国,两国关系得到较大改善,前景看好;巴基斯坦则由于“前线国家”地位的丧失,在美国全球战略中的地位下降,巴美关系降温,从而使巴外交陷入困境。为此,巴基斯坦抓住世界格局转变之际出现的千载良机,积极参与中亚争夺战,试图拓展外交空间、抗衡印美合作,同时捞取经济实惠。Central Asia has increasingly become one of the focuses in the world after breakdownof the Soviet Union,and pan-Islamic nations have been trying to play a dominant role in that area.Pakistan,having no exception,has taken part in the contention so that itsdiplomatic influence and economic interest would be enhanced.It is,however,still diffi-cult to produce any short-term effects because of an uncertain future as well as formidablechallenge from other bigger powers.
