摘　　要：本文是国际心联主席韦恩·霍尔茨曼于1987年9月在中国心理学会第六届学术会议上的讲演。文中着重介绍了不同国家心理学的发展和情况;评述了心理学在发展中国家的作用,以及心理学家在心理卫生、健康保健队伍中的地位;论述了社区心理学的主要目标及一些国家实施的效果等.This article,as aspeech,was given by Dr.Wayne H.Holtzman,Chairman of InternationalPsychological Association,at the SixthNational Conference of the ChinesePsychological Society held in September,1987.In his speech,he introduced thedevelopment of psychology and its situa-tion in different countries,discussedthe roles of psychology in developmentalcountries and the status as a psychologistshould have in mental hygiene and healthcare.He also talked about the maingoal of society psychology and its appli-cation in some countries,and so on.
