评阿基兰的中篇小说《女人》

摘　　要：在印度现代文学中,描写印度民族独立斗争题材的作品寥若晨星。尤其是在印度独立之前创作发表的文学作品中,敢于触及这类题材的现实主义小说更是凤毛麟角。阿基兰的中篇小说《女人》就是这类优秀作品之一。小说《女人》创作于1945年,发表在1946年的泰米尔文学刊物《文艺女神》上,并获得该刊举办的小说竞赛一等奖。当时,印度国内民族矛盾和阶级斗争空前尖锐激烈,民族独立运动日益高涨,英国殖民统治者已经预感到末日的来临,向印度人民疯狂反扑。This well-known Tamil novel by Akilan caused a stir in India when it waspublished in 1946, and it was soon translated into several Indan languages.Mr. Zhang Xilin, who translated the novel into Chinese from the Tamil origi-nal and published it for the first time in China in 1985, now presents a pa-per on the masterpiece. Starting from an analysis of the images of the typi-cal characters depicted, he centres his discussion on the ideological leaningand artistic style of the work, with a view to better grasping its realisticmeaning and historic value.
