摘　　要：The Shakespeare Festival which took place last April in China mounted anumber of adaptations of Shakespeare.It was done not only by Beijing Opera andKun Qu,the two oldest of our drama,but also by the local dramas of An Huiand Zhe Jiang provinces.The plays adapted included Macbeth,King Lear,Winter’s Tale,Much Ado about Nothing.and Twelfth Night.Besides these abouta dozen Shakespeare’s plays were given in Chinese translation.Altogether overa hundred performances were mounted by about a dozon dramatic companies intwo weeks.
