The growth and absorption and distribution of mineral nutrients in cucumber seedlings were studied under different phosphorus(P) levels(0,0.1,0.5,1.0,10.0,20.0 mmol/L).The results showed that,①the dry weight of roots, stems and leaves of cucumber seedlings increased firstly and then reduced with the increase of P levels. When P level was at or higher than 10.0 mmol/L,high-P-stress symptoms appeared at the oldest leaves initially,i.e.midrib and vein of leaf rose and turned into bright yellow along midrib and vein of leaf.Old leaves were firing withered and young leaves were intervein chlorosis when P toxicity was serious.②P concentration increased significantly in plants with the increase of P level, the highest P concentration reached to 1.28% of dry weight.Potassium concentration in plants increased firstly and then reduced, copper concentrations in plants decreased, but concentration of calcium, magnesium, manganese and zinc in plants did not change with the increase of P level. The distribution model of all the nutrients among roots, stems and leaves did not change under high P level.
