It is a great development of Marxism, which well serves as a guide for the implementation of the strategy of 'science and education thriving the nation'. The author points out that Deng Xiaoping′s idea is not only the distillation of theory, but also the guide for practice. The idea of 'placing hopes on science' is the peak of Deng Xiaoping′s idea of science ant technology, and the practice of putting education before the development of science and technology as a strategic measure embodies his idea in science and technology. When Deng Xiaoping′s idea of science and technology is applied as a guide to the scientific and technological work in the schools of higher learning, they will advance a step forward in their research work.
