摘　　要：社会结构是“人们各种社会关系的模式,这种模式在一段时期内保持相对稳定。”本世纪以来,美国社会结构经历了数次重大变动。每一次变动,都伴随着美国社会学一个学派的兴起。第一次变动是美国从农村社会(Rural Society)向城市社会(Urban So-ciety)转变,芝加哥学派在这期间兴起。History of American sociology has shown that it is very im-portant for sociologists to distinguish social problems that de-rive from changes in social structure.A major social problemin the U.S.today is an asymmetric structure of social respon-sibility.The focus of American sociology is shifting from thestudy of how social system influences individual actions to thestudy of how individual purposive actions are combined intobehavior of a social system.
