摘　　要：本文第一次全面系统地记述了我国现代地图集——《中华民国新地图》的编绘缘由和经过,体例的具体酝酿和决定过程,出版的过程和情况,以及它在中国地图发展史上的作用和意义。文中有许多为曾世英老先生的回忆资料,是首次发表的很为珍贵的史料。This article gives for the first time a comprehensive and systematicaccout of the reason and course for the compilation and drawing of A NewAtlas of the Republic of China,the process of deliberating and deciding onits stylistic rules and layout,its publication as well as its place in China'scartographical history.Many of the historical materials used in the articleare recollected by Mr.Zeng Shiying,and are thus very precious.
