摘　　要：中国1:50万假彩色卫星影象图,根据各地区自然景观特征,进行了一系列增强处理,并结合了地形图的优点。该图信息量丰富、成本较低和便于推广应用。The 1 ; 500,000 false colour satellite images of China have been completed by the Institute of Geography,Procedures on contrast enhancment of the images with the landscape features have been done in different regions.The advantages of both satellite photographs and topographic maps were complemented. An atlas in medium scale of satellite images was compiled to present the physical features of China.The research in the compilation involved.1 . The choice of the photographic originals from satellite2. The comparative analysis of the satellite images with geographic features.3. The process of contrast enhancment of the satellite images,4 . The exploration of the technique for the printing plates by electronic colour scanner,5. The addition of map marks to satellite image. Consequently, the Atles has the following characteristics;1. The exquisiteness and abundance of the image involvmente can present the features of geology, geomorphology, hydrology, soil, vegetation and land use and reveal some concealed natural phenomena and their dynamic tendency.2. the technique for the Atlas was adequate,the cost of the images was very low.3. The images are easier for the users to identify in their own aspects.
