Since Botha came to power in 1978, the South African government, under tremendous pressures at home and abroad, has gradually carried out reforms of the apartheid system, and eventually declared its abolishment. However, while it was relatively easier to legally abolish the system of racial segregation, it is more difficult to realize genuine political and economic equality amony races. With the normalization process of the racial relations in South Africa developing in depth, struggles between the blacks and whites have ushered in a substantive period, and contradictions and conflicts amid both the blacks and the whites are bound to be more acute.There will be an interwining and complications of racial contradictions with tribal contradictions. Thus, the road of normalization of racial relationship in South Africa tends to be difficult and tortuous, and it is even possible that confrontations and setbacks take place.
