InOrder to analyse this policy,we had not only to examine it from economic angle but also from political angle,from Britain’s foreignstrategy and its situation after the world war Ⅱ.The goals of Britain’s China policy of that time were:1.maintaining Britain’svested interests in Chinese mainland and Hongkong;2.wining over the influence on China’s affairs;3. driving a wedge betweenChina and Soviet Union;4.Promoting Britain’s international standing and role. The influnce of Britain’s China policy in this periedhas gone far beyond the same time. To reviewing this phase of history is very instructive for understanding Britain’s China policyand its whole foreign polhicy of the post-war
