摘　　要：现代主义诗歌是打着“反传统 ,反浪漫”的旗帜出现的。爱尔兰诗人叶芝被公认为现代诗歌的先驱者之一。但是 ,他却因其诗作里始终保持着的浪漫主义色彩而被誉为“现代浪漫主义抒情诗人”。Modernist poetry emerged in the literary world with a solemn declaration of‘anti-conventionalism and Romanticism.’William Butler Yeats,Irish poet of the early 20th century,is generally ackowledged as one of the forerunners of modernist poetry.Nevertheless,he has been celebrated as a‘Modernist lyric poet of Romanticism.’Focusing on the development of both Romanticism and Modernism as reflected in his lyrics,this article aims at exploring the great success Yeats achieves in the unification of the distinguishing features of both Modernism and Romanticism in the art of his poetic creation.
