摘　　要：陕西关中十八唐陵阎卫平上中学时，我问教文科班历史课的李润生先生：“关中为啥多帝王陵墓？”他风趣地告诉我：“古人一生有四大愿望，生在苏州，长在杭州，死在柳州，埋在秦州。苏州可以吃好，杭州可以玩好，柳州木头好，能做上好棺材，秦州黄土厚，是块风水宝地。秦州...Abstract This article tells about the Eighteen Mausoleums of the Tang Dynasty lying on a piece of tableland north of the Wei River.These tombs,with the Zhao Mausoleum and the Qian Mausoleum being typical of them,can be regarded as models of tombs of ancient Chinese emperors,and their scopes,structures and groups of stone carved statues in front of the tombs display elegant demeanour of the Tang Dynasty at its prime.During the 1300's,all those graves,with the single exception of the Qian Mausoleum,suffered being robbed;but,despite this,in view of Large numbers of valuable cultural relics excavated from those funerary objects buried graves,there must be a lot more cultural relics to be got in in their further archaological excavation.S
