摘　　要：由中国工艺美术学会雕塑专业委员会与上海一壶宽艺苑共同主办的《首届中国现代陶艺展》,已于1997年10月16日在上海襄阳公园举行。来自全国各地的入选作品共有109件,经评委会评选,共评出二等奖2名,三等奖3名,优秀奖7名(一等奖空缺)。首届现代陶艺展,旨在促进我国现代陶艺的发展,发现一代新人。为此,主办者决定每两年举办一次展评,并且还拟举办一次《海峡两岸现代陶艺展》。第二届现代陶艺展将在1999年举行,因此1998年第四季度便将开始报名,截止日期为1998年12月底。报名者均需寄送作品照片(或反转片),以便出版书籍,在展出时提供给参观者。获奖的作品将参加《海峡两岸现代陶艺展》。As an advisor of pottery making art with the Office of International Development and Planning of the United Nations, Mr Li Maozong is a member of the judging panel for the 1st Modern Chinese Pottery Works Show. This article gives his impressions of the show. In his opinion, the works exhibited at the show are quite representative, though they may not cover all areas of the China's Mainland. Great improvements have been made in such aspects as application of various shapes and materials, innovations in modes of creation, as well as creativity.
