摘　　要：The giant panda (Ailuropoda melanoleuca) is seriously endangered mainly because of a small total population, a narrow and fragmented distribution, and a restricted diet. Formerly, most studies on the giant panda focused on its behavior, distribution and the structure of different age groups. However, we almost kn6w nothing about its genetic structure or the genetic characteristics of populations and its inbreeding coefficient.
