摘  要:Temporal information of the songs is generally species-specific and implies certain'meanings', which are very important in intra- and interspecific communicationsof animals. As to the mechanisms underlying song pattern recognition, it waspresumed that there were special time rate recognizers or temporally tuned neuronsin the auditory nervous system, but no evidence has been obtained so far. Someinvestigators suggested that there were 'rate band-pass' cells in the auditory neuronalcenters, which were found in the brain of frogs.
