摘　　要：With the consideration of surface tension in the analysis of nonpropagating solitary waves, the plane kh-σ can be divided into 3 parameter regions. The solitary waves appearing in parameter regions (1) and (2) are of the same kind, which were observed and confirmed before. The solitary waves in parameter region (3) have been firstly observed in laboratory experiments. Experimental results confirm that they are another new kind of non-propagating solitary wave.With the consideration of surface tension in the analysis of nonpropagating solitary waves, the plane kh-σ can be divided into 3 parameter regions.
