摘　　要：The aim of this work is to measure trace elements in fossils by MeV proton induced X-ray emission analysis (PIXE). The 14 fossil samples are of ancient animals, another one is of loess, all of which are from Carboniferous to Holocene. Fifteen elements and contents have been obtained from X-ray energy spectra.
