摘　　要：教育,特别是双语教育,对于新加坡而言,不仅树人,而且立国。作为新加坡基本国策之一的双语教育,不仅是教育的基石,更是国家形成与发展的基石。双语教育在新加坡立国、建国、兴国、强国的历史发展进程中发挥了重要作用,既是国际国内政治平衡的调节器,又是经济腾飞的助推器,更是文化培育的孵化器,是新加坡社会发展的制胜法宝。For Singapore,education especially bilingual education not only bring up one generation after one generation,but also format the country.As one of Singapore's basic national policy,bilingual education is not only the cornerstone of education,but also the cornerstone of state formation and development.Bilingual education in Singapore has played an important role in the process of establishing nation,building nation,rejuvenating nation and powering nation,which is the regulator of political balance both international and domestic,the economic take-off booster,the cultural nurturing incubator,and the most important element of social development in Singapore.
