摘　　要：《紫艾草骑士》是一部经久不衰、被多次改编拍摄成同名电影、在美国几乎家喻户晓的经典作品。赞恩·格雷在这部小说中所塑造的英雄形象已成为美国西部小说的典型范式。从后现代主义视角来解读这部作品,我们可以看出小说所包含的宗教隐喻意义、小说所展现出的作者的生态伦理观、爱情观以及他对摩门教的态度。在叙事艺术上,作者采用了事后叙述、插入式叙述、故事外叙述、次故事叙述等方法,通过层层相嵌的叙事关系,将暴力冲突和惊心动魄的枪战间接却又可感地再现出来,使得小说的思想内容、故事情节和艺术表现形式和谐统一地展现在整体叙事框架中。Riders of the Purple Sage is one of the most successful western novels of all.The novel has been widely acclaimed as one of the best American literary classics and thus has been dubbed into movies quite a few times by the movie studios in Hollywood ever since its first publication in 1912.And Zane Grey's characterization of the heroes in this novel has become the typical paradigm for the American western novels.Interpretation of this novel from the post-modernistic perspective reveals the patterns of metaphorized religious signification the novels connotes,and the author's ecological-ethical view toward the wild upland areas,his moral normativeness on sex and marriage,and his critical attitude toward Mormonism.The main narrative strategies the author maneuvers in this novel are Posterior Narration,Intercalated Narration,Extradiegetic Narration,Hypodiegetic Narration and so on,which are intertwined logically to bring forth indirectly but animatedly the blood-shedding confrontations and thrilling gun-fires,hence the subject matters,the plot development and the literariness and poeticity are all integrated organically in the narrative frame of the work.
