Australia Should Have a Clear and Stable Strategy towards China

摘　　要：尽管中澳经济关系密切,但近年来两国整体关系发展并非一帆风顺。究其原因,是由于澳大利亚民众对中国投资的不信任。要解决中澳之间的了解与信任问题,澳大利亚应当采取有效措施,制定一个清晰稳定的对华战略。在此之后,政治家和其他政策制定者们就可以负起责任,引导澳大利亚人民了解中国及中国的历史和文化。同时,要加强双方各层次的交流,支持有关中国问题的研究与对话。Despite the close economic ties between China and Australia, their overall relationship has not gone smoothly in recent years. The reason lies in the fact that the Australian people distrust Chinese investment. To solve the problems affecting understanding and trust between China and Australia, Australia should take effective measures to formulate a clear and stable strategy towards China. Then its politicians and other policy-makers can take the responsibility for guiding Australian people to understand China and the Chinese history and culture. At the same time, it should increase bilateral exchanges at all levels and support research and dialogue on China issues.
