摘　　要：在中国历史上,风筝往往被视作一种玩具,或是古代军事之用。在中国的权威辞典《辞海》、《汉语大词典》的“风筝”条目中也持类同观点。然而,本文作者在对唐代文献进行大量调查之后发现,“风筝”至少在唐代曾以“乐器”的身份出现。进而,又把中国史料中的“风筝”与《新格罗夫音乐与音乐家词典》、《新格罗夫乐器词典》、《简明不列颠百科全书》中的“风鸣(奏)琴”、“风鸣竖琴”进行了比照,发现它们无论在构造上,还是在发音原理等方面都有很多相似之处。因此,文章认为,中国至少在唐代曾出现过与西方的“风鸣(奏)琴”、“风鸣竖琴”类似的乐器——“风筝”。那么风筝究竟曾经是否是一种乐器?The kite in ancient China was look as a kind of toy, or used for military affairs. The entry Kite in Chinese authority dictionary Ci Hai (a Chinese word dictionary) , The Chinese Dictionary held similar viewpoint. The writer, however, surveyed the documents in Tang dynasty and found out that the kite as music instruments at least in Tang dynasty. Furthermore, the writer compared the kite in Chinese historical documents with the Aeolian harp in the New Grove's Dictionary of Music and Musicians, New Grove's Dictionary of Instruments, and The Concise Britannia Encyclopedia and found out that no matter as their structures, or for their sounding principles, both of them shared a number of similarities. Therefore, the article proposed that a similar music instrument as the west Aeolian harp had been in ancient China at least existed in Tang dynasty, which was the Kite.
