摘　　要：　图像的数据量非常之大,多媒体数据压缩是一个关键技术.数据压缩可以实现实时有效地处理、传输和存储庞大的多媒体数据,本文主要介绍了多媒体数据压缩的方法和多媒体数据压缩国际标准JPEG、MPEG和H.261.The Future will be the information era.Information need to be recorded, transmitted and retrieved by the media. The most important information is the text, graphics, audio. The graphics can be directly seen and its lively contents include a great deal of things. But the graphic files's size take up a lot of storage space. So the multimedia data compress is a crucial technology, it can effectively deal with,transmit and store large size multimedia data. In this essay, we mainly scan the methods of multimedia data compressing and their international standards such as JPEG,MPEG and H.261.
