摘　　要：本文分析了19世纪末、20世纪初美国媒介批评对新闻专业主义建设的贡献。当时美国的媒介批评越来越多地针对新闻媒介的专业表现,从而走向成熟。在批评新闻媒介的煽情主义和商业主义的过程中,批评者提出了不少建议,包括捐赠基金报纸、政府管制等,最后专业主义作为一种妥协,在各种力量的搏弈中逐步确立。批评者还就实行何种形式的专业控制模式展开了争论。This paper analyses the contribution of the media criticism to the establishment of the professional journalism in the US during the turn of the 20th century. It accretes that while criticizing the sensationalism and commercialism in the news media, the criticizers advanced many suggestions including government control. It was during the struggles that the US professionalism in journalism emerged.
