摘　　要：GIS 是融合计算机图形和数据库于一体的高新技术,它把地理位置和相关属性有机地结合起来,满足城市建设、企业管理对空间信息的要求。研究是以 GIS 技术在国内不同领域得到广泛应用并取得良好效果作为前提和背景。以 VB 作为集成开发环境,简述了基于 VB 的 GIS 开发的可行性和优越性。着重阐述了基于 VB 的地理信息系统开发方法。GIS merge computer figure and database , to the integrative new and high technology , it conbines geographical position and relevant attribute together organically, meet the urban construction , requisition for space information of business administration. The research of this text is with the development at full speed of GIS technology, especially GIS technology different field used widely to and make the good result as the prerequisite and background at home. regards VB as the integrated development environment, sketch the feasibility and superiority that GIS based on VB develops . Have explained the geographical development approach of information system based on VB emphatically.
