Objective: To study the correlativity between vascular endothelial function and platelets activation and the effects of composite dan-shen root dropping pill (CDDP) in treatment of children with Kawasaki disease (KD). Methods: Sixty KD patients were randomly divided into two groups: CDDP treated group (n=32) and general treated group (n = 28). There were 35 heath children as control group. The expression of glycoprotein CD62p, CD63 was measured by flow cytometry. The diameter of brachial arteries (D%) was measured with high-resolution ultrasound system. Results: The expression of CD62p, CD63and D% in KD patients were respectively higher, lower than those of system control group (P<0. 01); In CDDP group, the expression of CD62p, CD63and D% were respectively lower, higher, at 3 months after therapy than those of before. In general treated group, the expression of CD62p, CD63and D% before and after therapy were no significant difference. Conclusion: Platelets are highly activated and there is endothelial-dependent vasodilation dysfunction in convalescent KD patients, it may improve by CDDP.
