摘　　要：研究目的通过综述和比较SOTER数据库的原理和框架,探讨建立土地资源的模式。研究方法文献资料法和比较分析法。研究结果从SOTER数据库的起源、发展和应用等方面系统阐述了SOTER数据库的原理和基本框架,比较了SOTER数据库与土地资源数据库的理论框架之间的异同。研究结论SOTER数据库包含了土地资源的自然要素集和土地利用的信息,实质上就是一个土地资源数据库的雏形,为建立土地资源数据库提供了可资借鉴的参考,可以参考SOTER的理论框架,对其概念、规则按照土地资源学进行专业改造,使之符合土地资源学的要求,建立土地资源数据库的理论框架。This paper aimed to review on progresses in SOTER research and examine its applicability in building land resource database. Comparative study is employed based on wide collection of documents. The initiation, principles and framework of SOTER project are reviewed and comparisons between SOTER database and land resource database are further examined. With experiences in building land resource database, the authors pointed out that SOTER database can work as a prototype of land resource database, as it contained most of essential components of a land resource database in theory. Except for valuable references, It can also be reformed into a land resource database with some necessary modifications on concepts and rules in accordance with the specialty of land resource.
