摘　　要：草原小说在加拿大文学史上占有举足轻重的地位,它的出现结束了加拿大的历史浪漫文学,奠定了其现实主义文学基础.<大地的果实>和<我和我的房子>被誉为草原小说代表性佳作.本文试通过两部小说的比较,审视作品中草原人所处的悲剧性环境及草原人在与自然、社会环境抗争过程中所展现的内在品质.Prairie novels occupy an important place in the history of Canadian literature. They broke the long tradition of historical romance and laid foundation for the country's literature in the realistic mode. The paper aims at, through the comparison of Fruits of the Earth and As for Me and My House , examining the tragic environment the prairie men find themselves in and the vigor of their inner nature with which they overcome their tragic destiny.
