The dilational viscoelastic properties at kerosen-water interface containing two different emulsifiers of sorbitan monooleate and sodium oleate respectively were investigated. The dependencies of dilational modulus, dilational elasticity, phase angle and dilational viscous component on frequency and emulsifier mass fraction were expounded. The microcosmic relaxation processes existed at and near the interface were studied. Experiments showed that the dilational modulus, dilational elasticity, phase angle and dilational viscous component for sorbitan monooleate decreased obviously with the increase of emulsifier mass percent within frequencies of 0.0033-0.1Hz. However, at high frequencies (>0.033Hz), the dilational modulus and elasticity changed little with increased mass percent of sodium oleate; at low frequencies (<0.033Hz), the influence of the mass percent of sodium oleate on the dilational modulus and elasticity was very complicated. The interfacial tension relaxation experiment stated that different dilational properties for two emulsifiers may be connected with their different relaxation processes existed at and near the interface.
