摘　　要：图像压缩编码是多媒体技术的关键技术之一。随着压缩编码技术的发展和广泛应用,提出了一些新的方法:小波变换、分形压缩等。国际标准也不断将这些新方法应用到其中。在重点介绍小波变换和分形压缩方法并对其进行分析评价的基础上,介绍了一系列国际标准,特别是JPEG2000和MPEG4。Image compression coding is always regarded as one of the key technologies of multimedia technology.With the development and wide application of the compression coding technology some new methods are put forward, such as wavelet transformation and fractal compression etc. And they are also used in the international standards. On the basis of introducing, analyzing and evaluating wavelet transformation and fractal compression, a series of international standards, especially JPEG2000 and MPEG4 is discussed.
