摘　　要：本文针对利用传真机输入图象建库时其压缩能力不足的缺陷,讨论了一个新的二值传真图象压缩系统的设计考虑与实现原理,使新系统的压缩比达到了8～16,大大提高了图象的存储和传输效率。本文还讨论了许多有用的图象压缩技术。This paper discusses the considerations of design and the principles for implementation of a bilevel facsimile image compression system,which overcomes the shortage of compression ability of PC-FAX when it is used as an input to build an image library.The compression ratio of new sys- tem reaches 8～16,improving the efficiency of transmission and storage of images.Many useful tech- niques for image data compression are also discussed.
