摘　　要：时间副词“老”有时表示“一直”,有时表示“再三”,这与“老”所修饰的动词的语义类型有关。“老”修饰动作动词和变化动词时表示“再三”,修饰状态动词时表示“一直”,修饰动作动词和变化动词的否定形式时表示“一直”。“一直”和“再三”可概括为一个义位 ,即时间的“量大”As an adverb of time,“老” can mean “all the way”or“again and again”according to the semantic type of the verb it modifies.When it modifies a verb of action or a verb of change,“老”means “again and again”.When it modifies a stative verb,“老”means “all the way”.When it modifies negative form of a verb of action or a verb of change,“老”means “all the way”.“Again and again” and “all the way”can be generalized into one sememe,indicating the meaning of “magnitude” in time.
